The school’s program consists of two levels. You start from level one during the first two semesters and then you progress to level two during the remaining three semesters. Students at this level will receive training in clinical and educational roles in order to gain skills as health care providers to adult patients.

At level two, the program broadens to train students in leadership roles in the health care profession. You will learn how to care for patients of all ages, from young adults to seniors. The program also aims to teach students the relationship between man and society. You will learn about Human Growth and Development as well as Sociology.

Those who undergo the 2 year associate degree programs at the Mercy School of Nursing will receive direct training that allows them to work in many care facility centers and hospitals. You may wish to consider taking up the accelerated bachelors program to enhance your experience in this field.

But by far the most popular two year program is the hospital diploma which prepares the students to deliver direct care to patients in different environments. It may take up to three years to complete this program at the Mercy School of Nursing. As most diplomas are relevant to English and science, you will be able to earn an Associate’s degree at the same time as studying for your diploma.

Students are admitted in the spring, summer and fall depending on the number of applications. But it is advisable to submit your application form well in advance to avoid disappointment. A non-refundable processing fee of 50 dollars must be enclosed. Once the admissions office receives all your documents, you will need to send all your official high school transcripts before taking the entry exam. If you pass your test, the next stage is to attend an interview in order for the admissions office to assess your application.

In addition to the wide range of diploma curriculum on offer at Mercy School of Nursing, students can also undergo Nurse Aide Certification program to prepare them for becoming assistants to nurses. You are eligible to complete certification for Nurse’s Aide I and Nurse’s Aide II levels after you have completed the third semester. The faculty teaches these courses three times a year, so if you have already been certified in CPR by another college, you should present the correct documents.
